Somalia Health Minister: Strengthening Collaboration with India.

Somalia's Health Minister emphasizes strengthening collaboration with India during a meeting in New

The Health Minister of Somalia, Dr. Ali Haji Adan, recently emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration with India during a meeting in New Delhi. Dr. Adan stated that Somalia has historical relations with India and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, including India's humanitarian efforts in supplying vaccines to the world during tough times.

Dr. Adan also expressed his interest in signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Indian hospitals to train people from Egypt. He noted the significant advancements and latest technology he saw during his visit to India, adding that the meeting was fruitful and would pave the way for cooperation between the two countries.

This meeting was held in the context of the sixth Advantage Healthcare India event, which was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday. Health ministers and officials from ten countries, including Bangladesh, Armenia, Bhutan, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea, Maldives, Nigeria, Russia, and Somalia, participated in the summit to promote medical value travel and share best practices in healthcare.

During the summit, Thinlay Choden, Southern District Health Officer of Bhutan, visited the Artemis Hospitals in Gurugram, Delhi NCR, India. This visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration and exchange of knowledge and expertise in the field of healthcare.

India is increasingly becoming a destination for medical value travel, as its healthcare sector is known for providing high-quality medical services at an affordable cost. The Advantage Healthcare India event aims to promote this sector and attract more patients from around the world to India for medical treatments.

India's healthcare sector has also been instrumental in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, as the country has been actively supplying vaccines to various countries around the world. India has also been providing humanitarian aid and support to countries affected by the pandemic.

In conclusion, the meeting between the Health Minister of Somalia and Indian officials highlights the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the healthcare sector. India's growing reputation in medical value travel and its efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic make it an attractive partner for countries looking to strengthen their healthcare systems.
