BRICS is an acronym for the grouping of the world’s leading emerging economies, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The BRICS Leaders’ Summit is convened annually with discussions representing spheres of political and socio-economic coordination, in which member countries identify several business opportunities, economic complementarities and areas of cooperation. The 2018 BRICS summit, an international relations conference was held in Johannesburg, South Africa from Wednesday to Friday. Here are a few glimpses of Mr. Onkar S Kanwar, Chairman - BRICS Business Council (Indian Chapter) sharing perspectives and priorities as identified by the BBC. While addressing the highly distinguished delegates, Mr. Kanwar empasized on forging greater economic integration given the global trade and investment flows.
The BRICS Business Council aims to facilitate cooperation between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa in various sectors, as well as promote trade and industry amongst them. The BBC Chairpersons presented the Annual Report 2018 to the Heads of State and Mr. Kanwar presented the report to the Prime Minister.
