72 yr old patient, Ms. Manju Dasgupta came to Artemis all the way from Indore. She complained of severe knee pain. Although Ms. Dasgupta was very much into physical activities like yoga & swimming but still found it difficult to walk due to the pain in both the knees. The patient was admitted under Dr. Sandeep Chauhan Unit Head - Orthopaedics. After investigation the patient was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis leading windswept deformity in both the knees and had difficulty in ambulation leading to severe disability. Looking at the severity of the condition Dr. Chauhan planned for a staged Bilateral Knee Replacement. After much deliberation the expert decided to do the surgery one at a time. The right knee was operated in 2017 and the left knee in 2018. The surgery was successful. Ms. Dasgupta today is walking properly without any pain. Youtube link:
